Have a look at some photos I took over at Sapelo Farms in Brunswick, Georgia. They supply Sea Island Resorts with a variety of specialty produce. They aren’t 100% organic because of the high rainfall and sandy soil, which requires some systemic fertilizers.

The farm is just 6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and has been in the hands of the Lewis family since 1947.

Chefs from Sea Island hitch a ride on the farm's tractor, on the way to a sugar cane pressing.

The farm also provides livestock – which includes 12 types of free range chickens and seasonal pasture raised goat meat. They also sell whole or half carcasses of their grass feed beef in a variety of cuts.

Sapelo Farms produces a large amount of Rutgers tomatoes, at one time, Rutgers became the most famous tomato worldwide and once made up over 70% of the tomatoes being processed in the United States.
